Jade

In ancient China Jade had a similar value to that of gold and diamonds held in the west. The stone had great significance for the Chinese and was used in the decorative arts from the Neolithic Period (c. 3000-1500 BC) onward. The Chinese metaphorically equated jade with human virtues because of its hardness, durability, and (moral) beauty.
