Erie Basin

Another place I had the pleasure of visiting on my recent trip was the antique store Erie Basin in Redhook, Brooklyn. The location of the store was really interesting, it was set amongst a large industrial estate, a diamond in the rough. The beautifully curated store specialises in antique European and American 18th to 20th century jewelry.

Owner Russell Whitmore has a great eye, my favorite peices being the American art deco ones, so bold and modern for their time, embodying an individuality and brashness that is quintessentially New York.
