Bolivia, it was probably my favorite country in South America. The Pre-hispanic culture seemed to be most well preserved, obvious in the everyday rituals of worshipping Pacha Mama (Mother Earth,) the colourful packages are offerings, put in the fire to bring good luck, prosperity, love and good health. The landscapes were so dramatic from the Andes Mountains, the sprawling city of La Paz to the deep emerald green Amazon jungle. The Spanish colonial influence is evident in the womens dress, the hats (worn initially by European migrant gentlemen), the long braids and the Spanish shawls. Indigenous aspects are incorporated by the brightly coloured woven Mantles used to carry anything from everyday shopping to babies.
