Agora

This film was really incredible. It told the story of the Pagan Philosopher Hypatia who lived in Alexandria, Egypt AD 350–37. She was considered to be the first notable female mathematician, Philosopher and Astronomer. Hypatia was the daughter of the mathematician Theon Alexandricus and herself became headmistress of the Platonist school at Alexandria. She lived and worked at a facinating time in history, the rise of Christianity was pushing contemporary ideas of science aside and replacing them with Christian idea's of mysticism.

* The costumes and sets are also really beautiful, I want to go to Alexandria..
