Spent the loveliest afternoon at the Chelsea Physic Garden the other week. It's London's oldest botanic garden, founded in 1673, it houses a diverse collection of plant specimens from all corners of the world,  and is well known for it's rare collection of medicinal plants, I was very charmed by this fascinating garden.

Sunday

Loving Sunday, my one day off this week (hectic work week, lead up to PV trade fair in Paris at the end of the month).. I started the day by cycling down Regents Canal which is just behind my place, then visited Victoria Village, bought some lovely vintage clothes and had a coffee at Loafers, a charming cafe. In the afternoon sunlight I then headed to Brick Lane market to meet with Nat, Dave and Sar for some Sunday ciders.. for my hopelessly short weekend I think I made the most of what I had, with possibly one of the last sunny weekends before the vast expanse of the winter ahead... xx

I'm really going to miss Andrei my wonderful, talented fashion designer flatmate, who is leaving us for Milan this week. This image show's one of my favorites from his MA collection from CSM.. So brilliant!

It was such a beautiful weekend in London, today I went swimming in the ponds at Hampstead Heath with Marisa, it's really one of the most magical places in all of London.

Miró

Visited the Miró exhibition at the Tate Modern last night. He really created his own unique visual language as an artist. This quote from Miró was written on the gallery wall in the final room of the show.
'I understand that an artist is someone who, in the midst of others' silence, uses his own voice to say something and who makes sure that what he says is not useless, but something that is useful to mankind.'

Star Dust

Natural History Museum, London
Star Dust
I visited the National History Museum today in London. The second image show's small fragments of diamonds from star dust that fell to Earth in 1838.

'If you look carefully in the bottom of this little tube you can see white smudge of powder. This smudge is made up of millions of microscopic diamonds. These are the oldest things you will ever see. They formed in the dust around dyeing stars billions of years ago, before our solar system existed. The diamonds dispersed in space and eventually became part of the material that formed our solar system. Ultimately, some of them fell to Earth in meteorites, like the ones you see here.'

Needless to say I was quite moved by seeing this, it certainly puts life and the concept of time into perspective.

Here are a few images from my new digs in Bethnal Green, London. I love the east-enders vibe of this part of town, cultural fusion and market folk, i feel right at home. We even have some roses growing in our small yard. Someone here said to me the other day, if you give to London, London will give to you...
