My Own Private Idealogue

Yesterday I visited the current exhibition at 200 Gertrude. I was really taken by the work of the three artists in the show, each seemed to work with in their own constructed worlds, unique to their own artistic vision. The landscape in the first room by Joanna Langford was magic.
I loved the incredible fusion of 2D and 3D media of Peter Madden. His sculptures were made up of hundreds of cutout national geographic images. The overall arrangements were a interconnected mass of static fragments, arranged to create a world of their own. The framed collage works also had this floating appearance, his cutout images hovering slightly away from the surface of the page.

This show is definetly worth the trip to Gertrude st!
